Michelle Hong, Chair of the Board of Directors

As Board Chair, Michelle leads the Board’s efforts to fight hunger in our communities.

Michelle is an attorney and Director of Wealth Planning at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., a private bank offering investment management and trust services. A Philadelphia native, Michelle holds degrees from Duke University and Harvard Law School. Michelle also serves on the board of the acclaimed Pig Iron Theatre Company, and she co-chairs the Legacy Advisors group of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Michelle’s other role with Philabundance is as the co-chair of The Ceres Society, a group of women actively involved in the fight against hunger. Along with co-chair Tracy Davidson of NBC-10 News, Michelle and the women of The Ceres Society leveraged their collective gifts last spring into a matching challenge, which ultimately helped to raise over $500,000. In addition to pledging financial support for Philabundance, members of The Ceres Society engage in exclusive volunteering events and networking opportunities throughout the year.

Michelle lives in Center City with her husband, Alex Goranin, and their young twin daughters, Josephine and Charlotte.
