Philabundance Announces Newsest Board Members

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Jan. 25, 2008 -- Philabundance, the Delaware Valley’s largest food bank and hunger relief organization, names John F. Schultz, Senior VP of U.S. Sales, IMS Health; Christopher Krein, Managing Director of Business Development, Allegiance Capital; John Hutsell, Executive VP, Sodexho USA – Health Care; and Martin Meloche, Associate Professor of Food Marketing, St. Joseph’s University; and Allen R. Woolf, M.D., Senior VP and National Medical Executive, Health Advocacy and Specialty Medical Management, CIGNA Corporation as the newest members on its board of directors.

“Philabundance is fortunate to have John Schultz, Christopher Krein, John Hutsell and Martin Meloche as its newest members on its board,” says Aaron Krauss, Partner at Cozen O’Connor and Philabundance’s newest chairman of the board of directors. “Their combined years of business development and leadership experience will be an enormous asset to Philabundance to help us continue to grow and serve the needs of our communities through our mission of stamping out hunger in the Delaware Valley.

In addition to Aaron Krauss, of Cozen O’Connor being named new board chair, Philabundance is also pleased to name board member John Core, Associate Professor of Accounting at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and former chairman David Miller, Corporate Executive, as Vice Chairs on Philabundance’s board.

A nonprofit organization, Philabundance was founded in 1984 to help fight hunger in the Delaware Valley while reducing food waste. On Jan. 1, 2005, Philabundance combined forces with the Greater Philadelphia Food Bank to provide a “Full Plate of Services” of frozen, shelf stable and perishable foods. Last year, Philabundance provided approximately 22 million pounds of high quality, nutritious food through its 600 member agencies throughout the region.
