At the heart of every Philabundance program is the belief that no Delaware Valley man, woman or child should have to go to bed hungry. So we do everything we can to ensure that people receive the nutritious food they deserve.
We get food directly into the communities though our direct services programs or through our network of agencies. These agencies include food cupboards, neighborhood distributions, shelters, emergency kitchens and various social service agencies. Philabundance provides a reliable source of food to 9 counties in the Delaware Valley.
We believe that simply providing enough food to satisfy someone's hunger is not enough. This belief has led Philabundance to develop specific programs over the years to help address the issues of malnutrition and hunger, especially among the vulnerable populations.
Philabundance launched the Emergency Relief Initiative (ERI) in response to the difficult economic times that are leading to job loss and more people seeking food assistance. ERI is focused on increasing Food Acquisition, Enhanced Emergency Access and Increased Food Distribution to the people in need in the Delaware Valley. Click here to learn more

Participating stores agree to set aside nutritious food items that would otherwise be thrown away. Philabundance then schedules regular pick-ups to collect the food, and distribute it to those in need, through our direct-service programs and the agencies with which we work. |
