Wawa is known throughout our area for being customer-oriented, having great fresh product and friendly sales associates. What you may not know about Wawa is that they are also known for being incredible community partners in the five states where they operate. Year after year, Wawa goes above and beyond with the Check Out Hunger campaign, reaching out to their loyal and generous customer base for support. In fact, this year alone, their support of Check Out Hunger netted more than $110,000 for Philabundance, helping to feed almost 220,000 people throughout the Delaware Valley. They have also provided incredible grants to Philabundance which have enabled us to build capacity, keep programs running, and reliably provide food assistance to those in need. We are proud to have a regional icon like Wawa as one of our partners!
Wells Fargo stands tall as a corporation with a strong focus on community. Wells Fargo has been helping Philabundance achieve our mission each day by granting us more than $40,000 this year alone and by providing us with teams of 10 to 50 volunteers each month. These team members enthusiastically work in our Hunger Relief Center so we can continue to feed 65,000 people each week. We are proud to call Wells Fargo a partner in the fight against hunger!
FMC Corporation is one of our preferred partners this quarter, thanks to their incredibly generous sponsorship of our Pennsport Fresh For All site in Philadelphia. Fresh For All is a vital program for the community it serves, and thanks to FMC’s commitment and generosity, Philabundance can operate the site for an entire year, distributing 200,000 pounds of fresh produce to our neighbors in need. In addition, FMC volunteers will be handing out produce at the site each month as volunteers. FMC also sets a philanthropic example for their employees by not only matching monetary contributions, but also matching their employee’s volunteer service hours through their “Dollars for Doers” program. FMC’s commitment to the community is clear, and we are proud to call them a partner!
