AmerisourceBergen Employees Volunteer to Fight Hunger

On Thursday, June 3, 2010, AmerisourceBergen employees took on the fight against hunger by lending a hand at Philabundance’s South Philadelphia warehouse location. In a matter of three hours, employees packed an astounding 6.5 tons of bread that will serve Philabundance’s CSFP/senior box program and network of agencies and direct distribution programs.

Deloitte Employees Dedicate Day of Service 2nd Year in a Row

Deloitte employees prove their dedication to ‘beeting’ hunger right out of the Delaware Valley. For a second year in a row, Deloitte employees gathered at Philabundance’s South Philadelphia location for their 2010 IMPACT Day. Employees spent the day sorting nearly 3 tons of food, with some lending a hand to painting areas of the warehouse facility.

Impact Day is a celebration and year-round community involvement where many Deloitte member firms designate a day of service, IMPACT Day, to making an impact on the communities where they work and live. Firms often choose to hold their IMPACT Day events in June, the start of the global fiscal year. Leaving the office, conference calls and emails behind, Deloitte employees put their passion, determination and skills to use. They take part in a variety of community investment activities.

Pepsi Co. Employees Dedicate Day of Service to Fighting Hunger

On Thursday, April 29th, 28 Pepsi Co. employees dedicated their day of service to help feed families across the Delaware Valley. Employees volunteered at Philabundance’s South Philadelphia distribution warehouse where they packed about 12,000 pounds of food boxes for low-income seniors and about 1,000 pounds of pasta for our various direct service programs (link to programs) and network of about 500 agencies. Pepsi Co. employees sorted a total of 13,000 pounds of food for families in need.

Deloitte Employees Day of Service at Philabundance

On IMPACT Day, June 6, 2008, 50 dedicated Deloitte employees dedicated their day to help Philabundance. The Deloitte employees sorted 10,840 pounds of donated food which will be distributed to our network of 600 agencies. Employees also painted warehouse areas, stocked shelves and transformed the outdoor landscaping into a beautiful area that visitors, staff and volunteers will enjoy.
