COMMUNITY FOOD CENTER Volunteering Opportunities
The COMMUNITY FOOD CENTER (CFC) is a food pantry following a choice model of distribution. Customers shop, choosing what they like from a wide variety of (free) items, including dry goods, refrigerated and frozen items, fresh dairy, produce and bread. The CFC is open to shoppers four days a week, including weekend hours, to allow maximum accessibility to the community. Volunteers are needed Tues-Sat for a variety of tasks including unloading orders, stocking the shelves, greeting, registering and checking-in customers and data entry. Groups and individual volunteers are both welcome. Get more information on the COMMUNITY FOOD CENTER.
Those interested in volunteering should contact Jan at jbarnett@philabundance.org or (215) 339-0900 , ext. 310.

FRESH FOR ALL Volunteering Opportunities
FRESH FOR ALL is a program that distributes fresh produce in neighborhoods that need it once a week. There are sites in Philadelphia, Montgomery and Delaware Counties in PA and in Burlington, Gloucester, Camden and Salem counties in NJ operating at a variety of times, including morning, afternoon, evening and weekends. Each distribution requires a 2 hour commitment, including set-up and break-down. Approximately 10-15 volunteers are needed to help us reach our goal of serving 200+ households with each food distribution.
Volunteers may assist one time or regularly, at one site or more than one, but must be able to commit to the full distribution duration. Each distribution requires volunteers for a diversity of roles both physically demanding and not and we will match volunteers to tasks within their capabilities. Get more information on FRESH FOR ALL.
For more information on becoming a Fresh for All volunteer, please call 215.220.1920.

Volunteer
The great American philanthropic spirit is alive and well and without it, most human services and public welfare organizations would fail. Philabundance volunteers give thousands of hours of their time to provide vital services to help our neighbors in need.
Philabundance volunteers come from all walks of life and share the willingness to give their time to help their community. We have no typical volunteer and they include working professionals, retirees, stay-at-home parents, school aged children, college students, scouts, and members of the U.S. military.
These dedicated people help with product recovery, work in the warehouse, provide administrative support, and assist with maintenance projects and special events. Philabundance depends on volunteers to help us distribute millions of pounds of food throughout the Delaware Valley each year.
Groups donate their time to learn about hunger issues in their community while volunteering including: Corporations, Schools, Youth Groups and Churches.
We offer opportunities to fulfill community service.
- Do you have a requirement to fulfill community service?
- Choose which 3 hour shift works for you and call for an interview.
Philabundance Volunteers Help By:
Sorting
Sorting of donated non-perishable food that comes from supermarkets, food drives and food donors.
C.S.F.P. Packing
3,800 commodity supplemental food boxes are packed every month and distributed to senior centers throughout southeastern PA. This competitive team project requires 20-30 volunteers.

Clerical
Periodically help with answering phones or making call, photocopying or filing.

Corporate Projects/Events
Corporate community days are welcomed at the Food Bank which may include a full day of service to the community.
