Employees from The Hartford Help Philabundance Achieve What’s Ahead

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — June 2, 2010 — In honor of The Hartford’s 200th anniversary, 50 employees from the company’s Wayne office stopped by Philabundance’s Galloway food distribution center on May 27, to donate of its time and make a check presentation of $2,500.

As part of The Hartford’s efforts to help communities achieve what’s ahead, employees from the company’s Wayne office, the company’s national sales and call center headquarters, gathered at Philabundance to assist with packing senior food boxes that are distributed throughout the region.

The Hartford’s $2,500 donation to Philabundance, the Delaware Valley’s largest hunger relief organization, was given in the spirit of the company’s longstanding commitment to philanthropy in the communities where its employees live and work. As part of its bicentennial celebration, The Hartford is sponsoring employee community service programs and events in local markets across the country. Thousands of employees are expected to participate in fundraising and volunteer activities with nonprofit organizations throughout the year.
