Hunger Action Month is a nationwide campaign to mobilize each of us to take action against hunger. Food should not be an impossible choice but too many families often face the difficult decision between buying food and paying for housing, medicine, or transportation. This has become the reality for even more people through the pandemic and economic crisis.

Philabundance has been working hard to meet the growing need across its nine-county service area, but we cannot do this alone. Our country is still facing an unprecedented hunger crisis due to the lasting economic fallout of the pandemic and the dramatic increase in the cost of food. On top of this, many of the temporary measures Congress passed to help families make ends meet, such as providing all schools participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) the ability to serve free meals to all students and enhancing the Child Tax Credit to quickly reach more low-income families, have come to an end.
Take action to tell Congress to prevent families from having to make impossible choices! Tell your legislators you want them to champion anti-hunger programs — like TEFAP, SNAP, and child nutrition programs — now and into the future.

Virtual Food Drives are a great way to help Philabundance in the fight against hunger. They allow you, your friends, family, and coworkers to “shop” for needed food in our virtual store. Philabundance is able to stretch your dollar further because for every $1 donated we help provide 2 meals to someone facing food insecurity.
