Portion of Proceeds from Hard Rock’s Joe’s South Philly Burger Benefits Philabundance

Philadelphia, PA, May 24, 2012 – Hard Rock Cafe Philadelphia is celebrating the upcoming summer BBQ and burger season by helping out its local community with the launch of the Local Legendary for Charity program.  Committed to philanthropy and the brand’s “Love All. Serve All” creed, from now through Saturday, June 30, 2012, $5 from every Local Legendary Burger purchased at Hard Rock Cafe Philadelphia will be donated directly to Philabundance, whose mission is to reduce hunger and food insecurity in the Delaware Valley by providing food access to those in need in partnership with organizations and individuals.

“Since Hard Rock’s founding in 1971, our brand has been committed to philanthropy and we’re famous the world over for our delicious burgers,” said Mike Chrupcala, General Manager of Hard Rock Cafe Philadelphia.  “We’re proud to be able to combine these two attributes for this charitable Local Legendary program and show support of Philabundance and our community.”

Hard Rock International’s Local Legendary Burger menu features specialty burgers, made with 10 ounces of Certified Angus Beef, that capture the culinary spirit of each city and are unique to each Hard Rock location worldwide.  Joe’s South Philly Burger, available only at Hard Rock Cafe Philadelphia, is a 10-ounce burger, seasoned with oregano and oil, topped with provolone cheese, roasted red peppers, pepperoni and salami on a hoagie roll, served with French fries. Through this charitable program, with the purchase of each Joe’s South Philly Burger at Hard Rock Cafe, Philabundance will be able to provide 10 meals to those in need.
