Philabundance Introduces Recipes To Fit Every Budget

PHILADELPHIA – Jan. 22, 2009 – Philabundance is offering a new recipe area on their website for people who want to start the New Year off by sharing healthy meals that help keep budgets lean in these tough economic times. The region’s largest hunger relief organization is featuring quick, healthy and economical recipes at www.philabundance.org.

Philabundance has compiled healthy and recession conscious recipes with the working family in mind. The recipes provide well-balanced meals that can be prepared in 30 minutes or less and will cost a family of four under $10 to make. The website includes recipes in the categories of salads, soups, entrees, sides, desserts, and entertaining. New recipes will be added regularly.

“We are offering satisfying, and inexpensive recipes that were inspired by busy working families,” said Bill Clark, president and executive director of Philabundance. “We hope these nutritious recipes will help families meet their family budget.”

“Easy Baked Chicken and Rice is one of the 35 delicious and economical recipes available. This recipe, like the others, can be cooked in one pot and served directly. It is meals like the baked chicken and rice that Philabundance is hoping will help lift the burden for families working to provide healthy meals on a limited budget.
