Philabundance Receives Grant To Fight Hunger

The region’s largest hunger relief organization paired up with Citizens Bank to battle hunger in the community.

Philabundance received a $25,000 grant from the bank in an effort to stem the growing need for food in the area. The grant came in response to a full page advertisement that the non-profit organization put in the Philadelphia Inquirer requesting help from the community.

According to Philabundance, harsh economic conditions have lowered annual donations by approximately 20 percent this year. With more families suffering due to the unstable economy, fewer families are capable of donating and instead find themselves asking for food donations.
