Politicians Get Into Flyers Betting Frenzy

The Flyers are in the Cup Final and that means plenty of things — especially friendly wagers between city leaders.

Philly Mayor Michael Nutter bet Chicago Mayor Richard Daley that the Flyers will beat the Black Hawks in the Stanley Cup Final. The prize — community service and freshly grown food for the less fortunate.

Mayor Daley’s wager is a little less committal. His bet includes food, but no community service.

When the Flyers win — go team — Nutter will volunteer time with a community garden organized by the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability. All food grown will be donated to Philabundance…
