Be a Summer Hunger Hero
Hunger doesn’t take a vacation and during the summer months, putting food on the table can be more challenging for many families because of the absence of free and reduced school meals.
You can be a hunger hero by making a donation or participating in one of the many programs that we are running throughout the summer. Check them out below.
June 19 – August 6, 2013
From mid-June through August, participating local ceramics and paint-your-own pottery studios will offer a special option to interested artists – Family Keepsakes for Kids. Studios will offer specific Family Keepsakes for Kids items, with a portion of the proceeds given directly to Philabundance. Check out the list of participating studios.
Tuesday, August 13, 6-8 p.m.
We’re hosting a hero-themed family night at The Hunger Relief Center (3616 S. Galloway Street, Philadelphia, PA 19148). Come dressed as your favorite superhero and help fight hunger! Children younger than 8 will be doing a craft project while all other children can help with a food packing project. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your spot. Please indicate number of volunteers and ages for any children attending.
Citizens Bank and the Philadelphia Phillies are back to bat hunger right out of the Delaware Valley. Phans Feeding Families will once again challenge Phillies Phans from all over the region to help raise money and collect food for those in need.
