Now, with the economy as bad as it is, it’s a good thing an organization like Philabundance exists.

The recent economic recession and soaring unemployment rates have hit close to home for Nancy Rudzinski, who is witnessing this impact in her own community. Born and raised in the small-town community of Bridesburg, Pennsylvania, Nancy raised three children as a single parent, at times balancing two to three jobs to afford utility bills and food to feed her family.

“I had three jobs at the time because we didn’t have aid like this available,” shares Nancy, “Now, with the economy as bad as it is, it’s a good thing an organization like Philabundance exists.” Her warm smile provides comfort for clients in need of food assistance at the Bridesburg Agency, one of the largest agencies supplied by Philabundance. At 70 years old, Nancy dedicates every Tuesday to ensure that her neighbors receive food. Her compassion and generosity empowers community members to stay strong during difficult times.
