I can't find an available shift on the calendar/ there were more shifts available previously. How can I join one of these shifts?

Shifts are removed from the calendar once they are filled. They will reappear if slots open up.

Who should I contact about volunteering?

You can sign up for shifts here. If you have specific questions or would like to register a group, please email the volunteer department ( or call 215-339-0900.

Do you have any shifts that aren't on the calendar? Weekends? Can we customize an event to work with our schedule?

All of our shifts are listed on our volunteer calendar. At this time we are unable to accommodate requests outside of the shifts listed on the calendar.

Can Philabundance provide me with documentation of my hours/ community service hours?

Yes, the Volunteer Department staff can provide a standard form to verify hours or sign documentation that you bring in. Please ask for this at the beginning of your shift. All court-ordered community service hours must be approved ahead of time. Please email for the application to complete court-ordered community service.

How old do you have to be to volunteer with Philabundance?

Hunger Relief Center Volunteers must be 18 years or older to volunteer.

Can I bring donations with me to my volunteer shift?

Yes, please! We accept donations of all non-perishable food during your volunteer shift. Check out a list of our most needed items.

How can I stay updated on upcoming volunteer opportunities?

You can check out all of our volunteer opportunities on our online calendar. If you create an account on our volunteer portal, you will be alerted when new volunteer opportunities are posted. You can also follow us on social media, including FaceBook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube to see the latest about special upcoming opportunities.

What should I wear to volunteer?

Volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes (no sandals or flip flops allowed) and comfortable clothing. Specific attire instructions will be sent to you in your confirmation email when you register for a shift.

Is there parking?

Free parking is available at the Hunger Relief Center. For other volunteer sites, we will list parking instructions on the program where you sign up.
