"Volunteers are the heart and soul of Philabundance and we couldn't do what we do without you!"

Volunteering Opportunities

Volunteers are integral to Philabundance’s work and we are eager to work with you! Supporting Philabundance as a volunteer means you’ll have a direct impact on supporting our neighbors in need, learn more about food insecurity in our area and beyond, and help our team save precious time and resources that we can put back into our work. With your help, we can continue to fulfill our mission to relieve hunger in our communities now and end hunger for good.

We offer a variety of service opportunities for individuals and groups. We encourage you join us on your own or grab a group of friends, family, or coworkers to join you for a volunteer shift! From packing and sorting food, to preparing meals at our Philabundance Community Kitchen, we have a variety of opportunities available to our volunteers throughout the week.

Group
Opportunities

We offer a variety of service opportunities for both individuals and groups throughout the week, so round up your friends, families, and coworkers to join you during a volunteer shift. You can easily sign up for a morning or afternoon Warehouse Repack shift at our Hunger Relief Center in South Philadelphia or preparing meals at our Philabundance Community Kitchen. Philabundance runs on volunteers, and we could not do our crucial work without your support, so please come join us for a fun experience, and most importantly, to help us provide healthy meals to our communities facing food insecurity

Remote
Opportunities

Support our work remotely by participating in our Notes of Sunshine Project. The Notes of Sunshine Project is an opportunity to support local seniors that are facing food insecurity from wherever you may be. Through this project, we ask volunteers to create positive, encouraging greeting cards to be placed in the 3,000 Senior Boxes we pack up and distribute each month. These Notes of Sunshine offer a reminder that we are all members of the same community and provide a touch of humanity that is as important to this work as the food itself. You can learn more about this program below.

This project can be done remotely or in group settings and is great for all ages. Some basic craft supplies are needed, including construction paper, markers, crayons, and similar items.  Instructions can be found below.  Email Volunteer@philabundance.org if you further questions.
