Food is Love at Philabundance

“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”

This quote, coined by Hippocrates thousands of years ago, is still very relevant today, recognizing the importance of healthy eating and how nutritious foods are vital to our every day lives.

There’s something intrinsically special about gathering around a dinner table with family and friends for a hearty, home-cooked meal. It’s an experience that comforts us, nourishes us, and connects us with the people we cherish and love. Sharing our abundance has the power to reinforce our relationships with each other and helps strengthen our communities. When we give a meal to our neighbors in need, we’re sharing the love.

Here at Philabundance, we see this love in action all year long. Our dedicated employees, community partners, and volunteers work tirelessly to distribute millions of pounds of food to our nine-county service area in Southeastern PA and Southern NJ to ensure everyone has access to the food they want and need to thrive.

As we acknowledge American Heart Month and Valentine’s Day this February, we’re asking our community to open their hearts and share the love. Learn more about all the ways you can get involved; donating food, making a monetary contribution, volunteering, or exploring other ways to help us continue our mission at https://www.philabundance.org/get-involved/

As always, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for over 38 years of continued support!
