The 10th Annual Phans Feeding Families virtual food drive campaign was a great success! Thanks to the support of Citizens Bank, the Philadelphia Phillies, Allstar and Phans Ambassador Aaron Nola, and phans all over the region we were able to raise more than $61,000, providing over 120,000 meals to our neighbors in need during the COVID-19 crisis.
The Phans Feeding Families campaign is typically held at Citizens Bank Park during a Phillies home game where phans can bring donated food items and proceeds from ticket sales benefit the cause. Due to the pandemic, it was unclear if the campaign would be able to move forward.
When Philabundance told Citizens Bank and the Phillies about the 60% increase in need across the region caused by COVID-19, they decided to transform this year’s campaign into a virtual food drive. Phillies Allstar and Phans Ambassador Aaron Nola joined the campaign for the second year in a row, creating a PSA encouraging phans to participate in the virtual food drive.
