Philabundance’s mission is to reduce hunger and food insecurity in the Delaware Valley by providing food access to those in need in partnership with organizations and individuals.

Philabundance is the region’s largest hunger relief organization.  In fiscal 2011, we acquired 21 million pounds of food, distributed 19 million pounds in our service area and exported 2 million pounds of food to assist other area food banks.

We serve low income residents at risk of hunger and malnutrition, of which 23% are children and 16% are senior citizens. We get food directly into the communities though our direct services programs or through our network of agencies. These agencies include food cupboards, neighborhood distributions, shelters, emergency kitchens and various social service agencies. Philabundance provides a reliable source of food to 9 counties in the Delaware Valley.

logo A food pantry following a choice model of distribution where clients choose from available items rather than receiving a prepared bag or box. Choice pantries promote dignity and respect for those in need.
logo Provides eligible low-income seniors with boxes of USDA-donated food that Philabundance sorts and delivers on a monthly basis. Interested seniors can call the Food Help Line 800-319-Food (3663) to be directed to a Commodity Supplemental Food Program location near them.
