On August 26, State Senator Sharif Street partnered with Philabundance Community Kitchen to host a Welcome to Wellness Pop-Up and PCK Community Cook-In. At this event, attendees learned how to cook street tacos with grilled chicken and avocado mango salsa, using budget-friendly ingredients—and brought home two frozen meals and all the products needed to make the meal at home.
“Learning how to prepare nutritious meals helps to improve our quality of life,” Senator Street told the audience.
Philabundance regularly hosts Community Cook-ins as part of the Healthy Pantry Initiative. This initiative supports community partners by increasing access to healthy items at local food distribution centers and through nutritional education, like cooking demonstrations.
