Host a Corporate Food Drive

Corporate Food Drives help the fight to end hunger in the Philadelphia region

As the school year has come to a close and children are looking forward to a fun summer break, Philabundance is working hard to help provide families with nutritious, delicious food in the communities that we serve. Our goal is to play a significant role in ensuring the summer season is a healthy, happy one for all, and we’re encouraging anyone who can, to please support our efforts.

As grocery prices are still very high, Philabundance is relying heavily on food drives, both individual and corporate campaigns and collections. Food drives generate more than one million pounds of food annually, and the wholesome items we receive and distribute are crucial for our neighbors in need. You can learn more about traditional, individual food drives in our recent blog here.

Virtual Food Drives

Did you know companies and corporate teams ran 46% of regional food drives in 2022? Many of our corporate supporters and donors are choosing Philabundance’s virtual food drive option, which is easily coordinated entirely online. It’s a great way for companies to encourage employees, their families, and friends to contribute. To learn how to set up a virtual food drive, visit the Philabundance virtual food drive portal to get started.

Food Connect

Another powerful vehicle Philabundance utilizes is Food Connect, which aims to reduce food insecurity in Philadelphia by connecting excess food to those facing hunger. Essentially, it’s the “Uber for food rescue.” Unlike Philabundance, Food Connect can accept prepared and packaged food from restaurants and catered events during evenings and weekends which is then promptly delivered for distribution.

For donors, the process is easy as 1, 2, 3!  If you are a licensed food donor and have surplus food to contribute, you can  submit your donations online here within seconds, or download the app, and Food Connect will come to your location immediately, and deliver to those in need. Please note, individuals may also donate canned foods and dry goods and can schedule a pickup here. Check out the Donor FAQ’s for full details.

To receive food, if you’re an organization helping those in need of nutritious food, you can  sign up here to request groceries and prepared meals for your community. By carefully choosing and ordering the foods your neighbors desire and enjoy, you’re helping Philabundance provide more choice and dignity during their time of crucial need.

Thank you for your continued support of our mission, and of course, for questions and guidanceplease feel free to email our Food Sourcing team which will be happy to help guide you!
