Fox 29 All-Day Broadcast Raises Funds and Food

On Wednesday, July 29, Fox29 joined Philabundance in South Philadelphia and at Philabundance Community Kitchen (PCK) for live broadcasts during “Good Day Philadelphia,” “Good Day Uncut,” and “Behind the News.” The station encouraged viewers to make gifts throughout each broadcast.

During their time at PCK, reporter Greg Payne spoke to members of the PCK Chef Instructor Brian Ricci and Job Training Specialist Tiffany Peacock about the 16-week, free culinary training program offered to adults who qualify for public benefits. PCK graduate and current staff member Leslie Fernandez chatted about her experience in the culinary program and why others should join.

Payne also spoke with Philabundance Special Projects Manager Avi Nocella about the Summer LunchBox program and the importance of the program’s volunteers.

“We couldn’t be happier with our friends at Fox29 for this partnership, especially in the summer,” said Philabundance CEO Loree D. Jones Brown. “People need help all year round, so [for Fox] to encourage your viewers to either volunteer, donate, or help them find food, we are really grateful for that.”
