Let’s Eat by Philabundance

Philabundance Logo - Let's Eat Summer Program

Approximately 400,000 children in the Philabundance service area, which covers nine counties in Southeastern PA and Southern NJ, rely on school-provided meals as a steady food source when school is in session. The loss of these meals during the summer forces too many families to face the additional challenge of making up this gap.

This summer, Philabundance, in partnership with various community-based organizations will work to ensure that thousands of children and families have access to fresh, nutritious meals through our “Let’s Eat” meal kit initiative.

For eight weeks starting June 13, we will distribute 2,000 free meal kits per week at 20 distribution sites, providing over 125,000 meals in total over the summer. Each meal kit will include all the high-quality ingredients needed to create two recipes serving a family of four. These tasty recipes were created by local and acclaimed chefs for the families we serve. Each week’s kit will also include resources (including cooking tips, nutrition education, local community-based resources, and more).
