On Saturday, June 20, Citizens Bank Park and the Phillies hosted the annual Phans Feeding Families game, a special collaboration to raise funds and food for Philabundance. Thanks to everyone who contributed by bringing non-perishable food products to the game and to our partner, The GIANT Company, over 1,000 pounds of food was donated to drive hunger from our communities today and to end hunger for good.
To kick off Phans Feeding Families, Citizens presented a $50,000 gift to Philabundance Community Kitchen (PCK) on May 7. This donation directly supports PCK’s culinary training program and its mission to change lives through food.

This year’s game was a historical win for the Phillies; Kyle Shwarber his three home runs, and Bryce Harper hit one single, one double, and one triple (also known as “the cycle”). Representing Philabundance on the field, Director of Events and Volunteers Laura Macenka threw the first pitch of the game. Laura had help from actor Kate Flannery (best known for her role as Meredith in The Office), who caught the pitch from behind home plate. Kate attended the game as a longtime friend of Philabundance. Last September, Flannery teamed up with her co-star, Oscar Nuñez, to play ABC’s Celebrity Who Wants to Be a Millionaire on behalf of Philabundance. During the season’s finale episode, she competed like a champion and won $500,000 to end hunger in our region.
Since Phans Feeding Families began in 2011, the campaign has raised over $1 million to combat food insecurity in Philadelphia and, with the support of Citizens Bank Park, the Phillies, and Phillies fans, has provided more than four million meals to families in need.
