Announcing PantryBox – a Philabundance Initiative!

We are pleased to announce that beginning in August 2018, we will offer PantryBoxes to our agency partners on the Agency Express Menu.

PantryBoxes are a pre-packed, sealed box containing approximately 15 pounds of shelf-stable food items such as canned fruits and vegetables, canned meat or fish, milk, cereal and other grains, which act to supplement any other food assistance your clients may receive. PantryBox is ideal for seniors who do not have access to the Federal Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP).

Thanks to the generosity of The W.W. Smith Charitable Trust, we will have approximately 800 boxes each month, August through December 2018 available for agency orders. The boxes have a shelf life of at least one year, so they may be distributed and/or stored as needed.

The only criteria for participating in this program is that Agency partners who order PantryBoxes agree to complete a short survey and/or provide feedback to us in December 2018–January 2019. The survey will include questions about your experience with the box, the food items, feedback from and about the clients who received these boxes and any suggestions you have for program improvements.

In order to create an opportunity for many agencies to participate, we are limiting the maximum order to 42 boxes (1 pallet) per month. If you currently receive a monthly CSFP delivery from Philabundance, we will include your PantryBox supply with that order.

For more details or assistance with ordering, contact our Member Relations team at 215-339-0900.
